10u Diamond Mine Mixed Forces Win Tournament

The Diamond Mine Mixed Forces came to play this weekend in Johnson City, TN. They fought hard to finish as the UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS in the USA Easton Summer Classic! Eleven teams competed in the 10u division.
In the first pool game against Humdingers Teal, pitchers, Mylee and Shelby, along with their catcher, Elizabeth "Peanut", fought for a 12-3 win. Shelby also contributed at the plate with an inside the park homerun.
In game 2 against SWVA Shockers, pitchers, Reagan and Shelby, along with their catcher, Claire, won the second pool game 5-3. The bats got hot with Claire, Reagan, and Shelby hitting doubles. This game seeded Mixed Forces in the 3 seed for the bracket play.
On day 2, in the first bracket game against Carolina Explosion, pitcher, Shelby and catcher, Claire threw a shut out game winning 10-0. Shelby dominated the mound facing 14 batters with 9 strike outs in 4 innings. Roxie and Reagan contributed at the plate by both hitting doubles in this game. Several singles, stolen bases, and great base running led to 10 runs defeating their opponents.
Pitchers, Reagan and Shelby, with their catchers, Claire and Peanut, threw a combined win over their opponent, Humdingers Purple. Shelby relieved Reagan for the win striking out 7 batters winning 5-3. Hadley started the rally with a sac bunt advancing two runners to second and third. Reagan, Emily, and Mylee all hit doubles to help lead the team to a victory.
In the semi-championship game against Pro-Concepts, Claire and her catcher, Peanut, threw an outstanding game winning 6-5 over their opponent. Claire pitched 6 innings facing 20 batters with 12 strikeouts. Second baseman, Makenna worked for two put outs during this game. The bats were hot with Zoey hitting an inside the park home run driving in 2 runs. Mylee, Shelby, and Claire also contributed at the plate hitting doubles helping their team to a victory. Mylee hit a walk off sac fly to drive in the game winning run.
In the championship game against Pro-Concepts, Mylee and her pitcher, Peanut, threw an exceptional game winning 9-5. Mylee faced 16 batters in 3 innings shutting the offense down with 4 strikeouts. Mixed Forces encountered injuries to two players in the last inning of the game but this didnâ??t stop our girls.
Mixed Forces overcame heat, bee stings, and injuries but are coming home the undefeated tournament champions and put in the work for every win!
